A website for restaurants in Mallorca: professional design, local SEO and built-in bookings

The INE directory does not separate food and drink premises by island. On 1 January 2025 the province of Balears, which matches the autonomous community, counted 9.490 premises. Mallorca concentrates 65 % of Balearic tourism and Palma is the most relevant destination, according to the entry cited in the brief. On the menu, one of the two official languages is enough: Catalan is the language of the islands, and consumer law does not require both at once.

The site’s SEO is written for your neighbourhood in Mallorca

Santa Catalina, the old town or Portixol have to be named on the website of the venue that is there. We do not order these neighbourhoods by number of establishments: the published CNAE 56 figure is for the whole province, 9.490 premises, with no split by island or by neighbourhood.

The 9.490 premises are for Balears: the brief does not split them by island

On 1 January 2025 the province of Balears, a single province that matches the autonomous community, had 9.490 premises in CNAE 56. Of them, 2.617 had no employees and 3.347 had one or two: a fragmented fabric. The premises figure is higher than the company figure because some companies operate more than one premises. Source: INE, DIRCE, table 301.

In companies, Illes Balears counted 7.941 in CNAE 56 (3,4 % of the 234.900 in Spain): 4.280 restaurants and food stands, 605 in catering and other food service, and 3.056 drinking establishments. It is the only one of the seven regions in the brief where restaurants (53,9 %) outnumber bars (38,5 %). Accommodation adds 2.278 companies. Source: table 39372.

Mallorca concentrates 65 % of Balearic tourism and Palma is the most relevant destination, according to Wikipedia, Balearic Islands. That does not turn the 9.490 premises into a census of the island. The brief states explicitly that the DIRCE does not take CNAE 56 down to island level. A Palma website that cites "9.490 restaurants in Mallorca" is misusing the table.

The Balearic Islands have the most extreme seasonality in the series, and the hotel guest is foreign

Illes Balears received 15.717.967 international tourists in 2025, 2,69 % more than the 15.306.313 of 2024 and above the 14.424.512 of 2023. That is 16,2 % of the national total. The provisional press note rounded the figure to 15,7 million (+2,6 %). Sources: table 23988 and the note of 3 February 2026.

In arrivals, the peak was July (2.566.508, 16,3 % of the year) and August came in at 2.531.667. The trough was January (147.694, 0,9 %). The peak is 17,4 times the trough. July and August accounted for 32,4 % of arrivals; from November to February, 5,2 %. The season starts in April (1.354.546) and continues in October (1.573.909). Source: table 75720.

In hotels, 2025 left 12.462.875 guests (+0,5 %) and 63.391.058 overnight stays (+0,6 % against 63.040.602). 91,9 % of those overnight stays were by residents abroad, the highest share among the seven regions. August weighed 18,0 % of the year and January 0,4 %. July and August together, 35,3 %; from November to February, 2,6 %. The overnight-stay peak was August (11.388.816) and the trough January (238.985), a ratio of 47,7. Source: table 61766.

For a website in Mallorca, that calendar matters more than an annual average. The menu, the booking and the visitor languages have to hold in July and August, and the page cannot promise the same pace in January: the trough in international arrivals is seventeen times lower than the peak.

On the menu, one of the two official languages is enough

Law 7/2014, on the protection of consumers in the Illes Balears, requires in article 30.1 that the consumer information in that chapter appear in at least one of the two official languages. Article 30.2 requires the official language of the State when labelling information affects health or safety. The reading in the brief is direct: the menu and the website comply if they are only in Spanish or only in Catalan. It does not require both, unlike the Catalan consumer code. Source: BOE, Law 7/2014.

Catalan is the language of the islands (article 2 of Law 3/1986). The public signage in Catalan in that law looks to the administrations. In the private sphere, the law tells the public authorities to encourage Catalan in advertising and to promote its ambient use. That text does not contain an obligation to offer the menu in Catalan for a restaurant. It is a brand decision. Household use in 2021, cited in the entry on the islands, was 68,2 % in Spanish and 38,9 % in Catalan, categories that are not mutually exclusive. Sources: Law 3/1986 and Wikipedia, Balearic Islands.

With 91,9 % of hotel overnight stays by residents abroad, English and German come in through the visitor, not through a third official language. The brief does not publish a split of languages by nationality in Mallorca, and this page does not invent one.

Sobrasada, Binissalem and ensaimada belong on the website with the source they already have

Mallorca has two wine designations of origin, Binissalem and Pla i Llevant, and the PGI Sobrasada de Mallorca. The ensaimada and arroz brut are in the same gastronomy entry. The brief has no figure for wineries or for protected kilos that we could add. Source: Wikipedia, Gastronomy of the Balearic Islands.

Ranking on the map is in local SEO for restaurants in Mallorca. The page plans are in the web design pillar. The catalogue is at the agency. The brief does not bring a figure for Mallorcan restaurants on TheFork, and we do not invent one.

Frequently asked questions about restaurant websites in Mallorca

How many hospitality premises are there in Mallorca?

The INE does not publish CNAE 56 by island. On 1 January 2025 the province of Balears had 9.490 food and drink premises. In companies, the region totalled 7.941, and it is the only one of the seven regions in the brief where restaurants (53,9 %) outnumber bars (38,5 %).

Does the menu in Mallorca have to be in Catalan and in Spanish?

Law 7/2014 requires, for the consumer information in that chapter, at least one of the two official languages, not both. Law 3/1986 declares Catalan the language of the islands and, in the private sector, instructs the public authorities to encourage its use. Offering the menu in Catalan is a brand decision. 91,9 % of hotel overnight stays in 2025 were by residents abroad: English and German come from that weight, not from a third official language.

How much does summer weigh on a restaurant website in Mallorca?

In 2025, July brought 2.566.508 international tourists and January 147.694: 17,4 times more at the peak than in the trough. July and August accounted for 32,4 % of arrivals and November to February for only 5,2 %. In hotels, August concentrated 18,0 % of the year overnight stays and January 0,4 %.

Is Mallorca 65 % of the hospitality premises in the Balearic Islands?

No. The 65 % the brief cites is of Balearic tourism, with Palma as the most relevant destination, in the Wikipedia entry on the islands. CNAE 56 premises (9.490) are not split by island. Using that 65 % as if it were a census of restaurants mixes two tables.

Where do I look for the website price in Mallorca?

The plans are on this landing and in the web design pillar, from 890 €. SEO for the island has its own page, and the full catalogue is at the agency. This page does not add a Google listing price that differs from the catalogue.
