Advertising for restaurants: Google Ads, Meta Ads and ChatGPT Ads
Paid advertising for hospitality with Google Ads, Meta Ads and ChatGPT Ads. Management from 450 €/month, no lock-in. The ad spend goes to your accounts.
The real challenge of paid advertising for hospitality
Paid advertising for restaurants is the fastest way to appear in front of customers who are already looking for where to eat, book or order. We manage Google Ads, Meta Ads and ads in ChatGPT at a fixed fee from 450 €/month and with no lock-in. You decide the ad spend and pay it yourself, directly to Google, Meta or OpenAI, on accounts in your name.
What you get
You show up on Google right when someone searches "Italian restaurant in your area" or "book dinner for tonight".
You measure calls, bookings, directions to the venue and orders, not empty impressions.
You reach people in your neighbourhood or passing through, with targeting by location and time of day.
You combine Google and Meta to capture demand and also to create it with reach and image.
The ChatGPT Ads pilot puts you on a new channel, with a small budget and an account in your name.
You own the accounts, the data and the spend: we manage, we do not sit in the middle.
No lock-in: if it does not convince you, you stop the management whenever you want.
The recommended minimum spend is low and you decide it: from 300 €/month on Google.
How we work
The same method on every hospitality project. Clear milestones and a deliverable at each stage.
We review your website, your Google listing and your real goals: bookings, calls, orders or directions. We define what we measure before spending a euro.
We create or audit your Google Ads and Meta Ads accounts; you open the OpenAI Ads Manager account and we join as an invited manager. Everything stays in your name, with your tax details.
We build search, Maps and Performance Max campaigns on Google; reach and conversion on Meta; and the ChatGPT Ads pilot if you hire Ads Full + AI.
We optimise every week and send you a unified monthly report with the conversions we measure: calls, bookings, directions and orders.
Who this service is for
What paid advertising for restaurants is, and when it makes sense
Paid advertising for restaurants is buying ads on platforms such as Google, Meta (Instagram and Facebook) and, since 2026, ChatGPT, so you appear in front of potential customers at the moment they search, compare or decide where to eat. Unlike SEO, which matures over months, paid advertising brings traffic and calls from the first week. It is not magic: it is buying visibility at a specific moment.
Paid advertising for restaurants makes sense when local SEO is not yet mature, when you open a new venue, when high season arrives or when you have an event, an online shop or your own delivery that needs orders now. It also works to relaunch a business, to fill quiet days or to promote a new menu. It is not a solution for everything: if your website is not ready or your Google listing is not up to date, the clicks are wasted.
At GastroSEO we treat paid advertising as a way to win customers, not as a promise of results. We measure calls, bookings, directions and orders, not impressions. And we combine it with local SEO and organic GEO when the goal is to build something that does not switch off when you stop paying.
Opening a restaurant
Paid advertising lets you fill the venue from the first week, while local SEO and the Google listing start to rank. The Website + Ads launch pack is built for this moment.
High season
In summer, at Christmas or on long weekends, demand spikes. Search and Maps campaigns capture people who are already looking, and Meta campaigns create reach to fill terraces and group bookings.
Own delivery
If you have your own delivery, advertising can send orders straight to your website and avoid the commission of delivery apps. We measure orders as a conversion.
Events and weddings
For catering and restaurants with private rooms, Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns can capture event and wedding bookings with specific ads and conversion landings.
Online food shop
If you sell vouchers, boxes or products online, paid advertising can send traffic to your shop and measure purchases as a conversion. We link it with the online shop design.
The three channels we manage: Google Ads, Meta Ads and ads in ChatGPT
We manage three paid advertising channels for hospitality: Google Ads, Meta Ads (Instagram and Facebook) and, since 31 August 2026, OpenAI's ChatGPT Ads. Each one has a different role: Google captures active demand, Meta creates demand and reach, and ChatGPT Ads is a new contextual-response channel, only a few weeks old in Spain. Not every business needs all three.
The choice depends on your moment and your goal. A restaurant that is opening needs Google Ads and Maps to capture searches; a venue that wants to fill an event needs Meta Ads for reach; a business that wants to try a new channel can pilot ChatGPT Ads with a small budget. In every case, you decide the spend and pay the platform directly.
| Channel | What it is for in hospitality | Format | Where it lands | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Ads (search and Maps) | Capture active demand: "Italian restaurant near me", "book a table today" | Text ads, location extensions, Performance Max | Website or Google listing | Average CPC for the restaurant sector: 2,05 $, the second lowest among sectors (WordStream 2025) |
| Meta Ads (Instagram and Facebook) | Create reach, brand, events, remarketing and conversion | Image, video, carousel, stories | Website, Instagram or Facebook | No fixed platform cost: you pay per impression or click according to Meta's auction; you set the spend |
| ChatGPT Ads (OpenAI) | A new advertising context: a sponsored card after answers with commercial intent | A sponsored card with a title, text, image and link | Website or Google listing | No mandatory minimum spend; a daily budget from about 15 € according to published guides (not confirmed on the official website) |
Besides these three channels, we look case by case at others such as TikTok Ads (a minimum of more than 50 USD per campaign and more than 20 USD per ad group, according to TikTok), Uber Eats Ads or Glovo Ads. Google's Local Services Ads do not cover hospitality in Spain. We do not recommend them by default: we assess them according to your business and your area.

Google Ads for restaurants: search, Google Maps and Performance Max
Google Ads for restaurants is for showing up right when someone searches "Italian restaurant in Madrid" or "book a table for today". We work three campaign types: search, Google Maps with location extensions, and local Performance Max. Each has a different job: search captures active demand, Maps brings the customer to your door, and Performance Max extends reach across Google's network.
The conversions we measure in Google Ads are the ones that matter to a restaurant: calls, bookings, directions to the venue and orders. We do not treat impressions or clicks as success. To measure calls and directions, we set up location and call extensions on your campaigns. To measure bookings and orders, we set up conversion tags on your website or on your Google listing.
The reference cost per click for the sector is set out further down, in the costs section. In Spain it will depend on your area, your competition and the quality of your ads.
Google Ads for restaurants is not an automatic booking machine. If your website does not load quickly, has no visible phone number or does not allow booking, the campaign wastes clicks. That is why, before launch, we audit the landing page and the Google listing. If there is no ready website, we recommend our web design for restaurants.
Meta Ads (Instagram and Facebook) for hospitality: when yes and when no
Meta Ads for hospitality is advertising on Instagram and Facebook. It is for creating reach, promoting events, filling seasons and remarketing to people who have already visited your website or your listing. It is not an active-demand channel like Google Ads: it is a channel for creating demand and brand. When a restaurant needs to fill an event, promote a brunch or relaunch its image, Meta Ads is the natural channel.
Meta Ads is not for every restaurant. If your goal is to capture someone searching "book a table today", Google Ads is more direct. If your goal is for people in your area to know you, Meta Ads works. The useful combination is both: Google captures demand, Meta creates it and reinforces it. On Ads Pro and Ads Full + AI we manage Google and Meta together.
On Meta Ads we measure conversions with the pixel and events: bookings, calls, orders and visits to the website. We set up the pixel on your website and on your online shop if you have one. We also make basic image and text creatives, and on Ads Full + AI, extended creatives with short video and A/B tests.
Before launching campaigns on Meta, we review the platform's policies for your kind of business. For example, alcoholic drinks have restrictions on Meta and on Google. We do not promise that everything can be advertised; we review it case by case.
Ads in ChatGPT (OpenAI Ads): what they are, who can advertise in Spain today, and how we work them
Ads in ChatGPT are OpenAI's advertising product, called ChatGPT Ads, managed from Ads Manager (ads.openai.com). OpenAI announced it on 16 January 2026 and started testing it on 9 February 2026. It went live in 31 European markets, Spain included, on 24 August 2026, and self-serve opened on 31 August 2026. Only adult users on the Free and Go plans see the ads, not users on paid plans. Source: OpenAI announcements reported by the trade press, August 2026.
According to the guides published so far, the ad is a sponsored card with a title, text, image and link that appears after the answer when the conversation has commercial intent. Targeting in Europe is contextual only: the current conversation, approximate location, device and language, with no chat history. There is no mandatory minimum spend and the daily budget can be set from about 15 €. The product is very new and can change.
To advertise on ChatGPT Ads, the business must open its own account with its tax details and the agency is added afterwards as an invited manager. Allowed categories include "local services" and "travel and experiences", and alcohol ads are prohibited. A bar or restaurant therefore cannot promote alcoholic drinks on ChatGPT Ads. If your business is a bar or a wine bar, we review each platform's policies before launch.
There are still no verified benchmarks of cost or results for ChatGPT Ads in hospitality in Spain. That is why we offer it as a low-risk pilot inside Ads Full + AI, never as a promise. The pilot is launched with a budget of 100-200 €/month and assessed with real data from your account. We explain it step by step, including what can and cannot be advertised, in ads in ChatGPT: a guide for hospitality.

What each management plan includes (Ads Start, Ads Pro, Ads Full + AI) and what it does not
Our advertising plans for restaurants are three: Ads Start, Ads Pro and Ads Full + AI. The management fee is fixed and public, with no lock-in. Ad spend is separate and you pay it yourself, directly to Google, Meta or OpenAI, on accounts in your name. GastroSEO does not intermediate or invoice the ad spend.
What no plan includes is the ad spend. The spend is yours, you decide it and you pay it to the platform. It also does not include building a website if you do not have one: if your website is not ready, we recommend web design or the Website + Ads launch pack. It also does not include production: neither a photo shoot nor a video shoot. We build the creatives with the material you give us; if you do not have it, we tell you exactly what is needed and who can film it. And it does not include promises of results: we measure real conversions, not impressions.
| Plan | Monthly fee | Channels | Recommended minimum spend | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ads Start | 450 €/month | Google Ads (search and Maps) | 300 €/month | 390 € one-off |
| Ads Pro | 750 €/month | Google Ads + Meta Ads | from 600 €/month split between Google and Meta | 390 € one-off |
| Ads Full + AI | 1.150 €/month | Google Ads + Meta Ads + ChatGPT Ads pilot | from 1.200 €/month on Google and Meta plus 100-200 €/month for the ChatGPT Ads pilot | Included |
The 390 € setup includes creating or auditing accounts in the client's name, tags and conversions (calls, bookings, directions, orders), campaign structure and the first ads. On Ads Full + AI it is included. On Ads Start and Ads Pro it is paid once.
We recommend keeping the campaigns running for at least three months so the algorithms learn and conversions settle. It is not a contract: there is no lock-in. If you want to stop the management, you stop whenever you want, and the accounts and the data stay yours.
How much it costs to advertise a restaurant: management, minimum spend and platform costs
The cost of advertising a restaurant splits in two: the management fee, which is what you pay the agency, and the ad spend, which is what you pay Google, Meta or OpenAI. The management fee at GastroSEO is fixed and public: from 450 €/month on Ads Start, 750 €/month on Ads Pro and 1.150 €/month on Ads Full + AI. We do not charge a percentage of the spend.
You decide the ad spend. On Ads Start we recommend a minimum of 300 €/month on Google. On Ads Pro, from 600 €/month split between Google and Meta. On Ads Full + AI, from 1.200 €/month on Google and Meta plus 100-200 €/month for the ChatGPT Ads pilot. These minimums are recommendations so the campaigns have enough data; they are not mandatory.
As a market reference, Google Ads and Meta Ads management fees published by Spanish agencies in 2026 run from 99 € to 1.995 € a month, with an approximate median of 520 €/month across twelve published rates. The two hospitality agencies with a public price charge between 795 and 1.995 €/month. The alternative model cited most often is a percentage of the spend (15-20 %) with a minimum of 300-500 €/month. Source: GastroSEO market research, September 2026.
The average cost per click for the restaurant sector on Google Ads is 2,05 $, the second lowest among sectors, against a global average of 5,26 $, according to WordStream 2025. It is a figure in dollars and for the global market: use it only as an order of magnitude. In Spain, your CPC will depend on your area, your competition and your ad quality.
Where ads land, and how they are measured: website, Google listing, calls and measured bookings
Paid advertising for restaurants only works if it lands somewhere that converts. That place is your website or your Google listing. If the website does not load quickly, has no visible phone number or does not allow booking, the clicks are wasted. If the Google listing is not up to date, the calls and directions do not arrive. That is why, before launching campaigns, we audit the landing page and the listing.
We measure four conversions: calls, bookings, directions to the venue and orders. Calls are measured with call extensions and conversion tags. Bookings are measured with tags on your website or in your booking system. Directions are measured with location extensions. Orders are measured with tags on your online shop or on your own-delivery website. We do not treat impressions as success.
If you do not have a ready website, we recommend web design for restaurants from 890 €, with bookings built in from the Professional plan at 1.490 €. If your Google listing is not optimised, we recommend the Google Business Pro service at 650 €/month. The website and the listing are the base of every campaign.
To complement advertising with organic presence, we recommend local SEO for restaurants from 350 €/month with no lock-in, and GEO to appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews from 490 €. Advertising brings customers now; SEO and GEO mature. That is why the Ads + Local SEO pack exists.
If you want to see the full method, visit the restaurant marketing agency or see the fixed-price packs. If you have a hotel or a caterer, we also have web design for hotels and a website for catering companies. To take deposits and vouchers, read the post on payment gateways for restaurants.

Common questions about paid advertising for hospitality
How much does a Google Ads agency cost for a restaurant?
At GastroSEO, the Google Ads management fee for restaurants is 450 €/month on the Ads Start plan. Setup costs 390 € once. Ad spend is separate: you decide it and pay Google directly on your account. As a market reference, management fees published by Spanish agencies in 2026 run from 99 € to 1.995 € a month, with a median of 520 €/month (GastroSEO research, September 2026).
How much do you need to spend each month on Google Ads or Meta Ads for a restaurant?
The recommended minimum spend at GastroSEO is 300 €/month on Google Ads for the Ads Start plan, and from 600 €/month split between Google and Meta for the Ads Pro plan. On Ads Full + AI, from 1.200 €/month on Google and Meta plus 100-200 €/month for the ChatGPT Ads pilot. These are not mandatory minimums: they are recommendations so the campaigns have enough data. You decide the spend and pay the platform directly.
Which is better for a restaurant: Google Ads or Meta Ads?
It depends on the goal. Google Ads captures active demand: someone searching "restaurant near me" or "book a table today". Meta Ads creates demand and reach: someone who sees your ad on Instagram and decides to go. Combining both is what we recommend in practice: Google captures the demand, Meta creates it and reinforces it. On Ads Pro and Ads Full + AI we manage both channels together.
What does the ChatGPT Ads pilot on the Ads Full + AI plan include?
A test campaign with a small budget (we recommend 100-200 €/month of spend) aimed at the venue, the kitchen, the terrace or the experience, never at alcoholic drinks, which ChatGPT Ads does not allow you to advertise. You open the OpenAI Ads Manager account in your business's name and we join as an invited manager, build the campaign, measure it and review it every quarter. ChatGPT Ads has been available in Spain since 24 August 2026 and the ads are seen only by adult users on the Free and Go plans; we explain it in full in our guide to ads in ChatGPT.
Are the ad accounts and the data mine?
Yes. The Google Ads, Meta Ads and OpenAI Ads Manager accounts are opened in your name, with your tax details. GastroSEO joins as an invited manager, not as the owner. The data from your campaigns, your audiences and your conversions is yours. If you stop working with us, the accounts and the data stay yours. There is no lock-in and no penalty for stopping the management.
Is there a lock-in on campaign management?
No. The management fee is monthly and has no lock-in. You can stop the management whenever you want. We recommend a minimum of three months so the algorithms learn and conversions are optimised, but it is not a contract. Ad spend can also be paused or cancelled at any time from your account.
Do I need a website to run paid advertising?
It is not required, but it is advisable. Google Ads campaigns can land on the Google listing, and Meta Ads campaigns on Instagram or Facebook. But if you want to measure bookings and orders, you need a website with conversion tags. If your website is not ready, we recommend web design for restaurants from 890 €, with bookings built in from the Professional plan at 1.490 €.
How do I know if the advertising is working?
By measuring conversions, not impressions. At GastroSEO we measure calls, bookings, directions to the venue and orders. Each month we send you a report with those conversions and the cost per conversion. If a campaign does not convert, we adjust it or pause it. We do not promise a ROAS or a number of bookings: we measure what matters and tell you with real data.
